Architecture Studio — Mumbai
Thirty years of architecture and interiors — built across India, rooted in Mumbai.

A practice built on
craft and conviction.
Team Design began in 1996 as a small office in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Over thirty years the Mumbai architecture practice has grown across residential, commercial, and institutional scales — from private apartments to institutional campuses, from banking environments designed to national standards to homes shaped entirely around the daily rhythms of a single family.
The architecture work spans from high-tech banking dealing rooms in Mumbai to environmental-friendly rural projects — from Srinagar in the north to Thrissur in the south. For institutions like ICICI Bank, J&K Bank, Tata Capital, and Kotak Mahindra Bank, the firm has authored the design language that defines how those brands are experienced in built form.
The collaborative process is as important as the outcome. Translating ideas into architecture is neither simple nor linear — it calls for experience and creativity, and for elegant solutions to genuinely complicated problems. See how we work →

"If a building can feel like it naturally belongs — fitting logically in a place, an environment, a time and culture — then the people who inhabit it will feel a sense of belonging there as well."
Six principles.
Every project.
Dependable Professionalism
A beautiful project is delivered through good service, detailed drawings and specifications with excellent project management. We pride ourselves on offering clients certainty and confidence in keeping projects on time and on budget.
Reliable Team Depth
Team members communicate well and are motivated by architectural innovation. The depth of our team means no project outgrows our capacity — and every client has access to the full knowledge of the practice.
Strong Domain Knowledge
We lead by design, combining global research with local action. Our experience across residential, commercial, institutional, and interior projects means we bring informed precedent to every new brief.
Freshness of Concepts
We deliver bespoke, global-standard buildings and interiors — no two being the same. There is no predetermined style or model. We take a fresh approach with every project, our work evolving organically without preconceived constraints.
Energetic Competence
Projects manifest macro-to-micro attention at every level. The delivery stage is a central element in ensuring design integrity is maintained and provides a smooth, efficient progression through all stages.
Wisdom of Experience
If a building can feel like it naturally belongs — fitting logically in a place, an environment, a time and culture — then the people who inhabit it will likely feel a sense of belonging there as well. This methodology connects theories of beauty, confidence, economy, and comfort.

Buildings that belong to their climate.
Sustainable architecture and interior design has been part of our practice since the beginning — not as a certification target, but as a consequence of building well. A building that responds to its orientation, captures natural light, and uses materials suited to its climate will always outperform one that fights its environment.
In practice, this means passive cooling strategies before mechanical ones, cross-ventilation layouts, thermally massive walls where the local climate rewards them, and careful solar shading that keeps interiors comfortable without sealing them off from the sky. We have worked on projects from hillside residences in Srinagar — where insulation and heat retention are critical — to coastal homes in Kerala, where humidity control and prevailing sea breezes shape every floor plan.
Where clients require formal certification, we provide support for IGBC and GRIHA compliance — including rainwater harvesting design, solar power integration, low-VOC material specifications, and documentation for green building ratings. But the goal is always the same: a building that is efficient because it is considered, not because it has been engineered into compliance.
Orientation, natural ventilation, and solar shading before mechanical systems.
Strategies tuned to local conditions — from arid inland sites to humid coastlines.
Low-VOC finishes, locally sourced stone and timber, and reduced embodied carbon.
Documentation and design support for Indian green building certifications.
