A private bungalow in Alibaug for a client who travels widely and lives deliberately. At 15,000 sq ft the brief was generous but undemanding — the client asked only for spaces that settle into the landscape without demanding attention.
The design reflects an ease of occupation. Rooms open to the outside in multiple directions, light moves through the day, and the distinction between inside and outside is consistently softened. A home that holds its occupant lightly.
The early site photographs show a building that looks like it picked its spot rather than was placed on it. The overhangs do their job quietly. That was the brief, and the structure is already keeping its end of the bargain.
