Precision Metal Pvt. Ltd — exporters, suppliers, and manufacturers of steel bars and bright bars — have their manufacturing sheds on a 14-acre property in Khopoli, about 80km from Mumbai. The project was to design an office building that would cater to the overall needs of today's small corporate house.
This mid-sized office building offers a grand space and enables employees to work with leisure and complete peace of mind. The design responds to the industrial character of the surrounding site while asserting a civic quality appropriate to a client-facing headquarters building.
The building demonstrates that corporate architecture at the scale of an industrial estate can still be thoughtful and dignified — it need not apologise for its context, but it need not be defined by it either.
